The Shadbrook Project

This modern + coastal project blends timeless elements with a relaxed, beach-inspired feel. The large room was designed to be multifunctional, with two distinct sitting areas: a formal space for entertaining and a cozy zone for the kids to watch TV.

Custom woodwork, including wainscoting and a shiplap ceiling, brought warmth and character to the space. The fireplace was reimagined with trim work, an integrated mantel, and partially exposed brick painted white for a fresh, airy look. An existing shelving unit was updated with custom doors, adding both style and storage.

A beaded chandelier serves as the room’s focal point, while the color palette leans into coastal blues with pops of vibrant tones in the artwork and accents. The result is a space that feels elevated, personal, and welcoming for family and guests alike.

This project was honored with the 2021 Wayfair Tastemakers Award for Best Use of Color, as voted on by Alix Galey.
