The Starlite Run Project
A Moody Boys Bedroom

What used to be his older sister’s room got a total glow-down (in the best way). This space is now a cool, moody bedroom designed just for him - and moody rooms are in!!

Storage was a top priority, but so was showing off his incredible Lego creations and his love for all things Star Wars. We painted the entire room in the most gorgeous deep brown from Sherwin Williams, which instantly brought the cozy. To add some texture (and skip a traditional headboard), I designed a custom slatted wood feature wall behind the bed that anchors the space without overwhelming it.

We kept things low and modern with a platform bed, added sconces above for that layered lighting look, and tucked in a sleek desk that gives him room to work, create, and display his builds. The lighter wood tones in the furniture bring balance and keep the space from feeling too heavy—plus they pop beautifully against the darker walls.

One of my favorite pieces in the room is the Darth Vader print above his bed. It’s a hand-drawn sketch from an artist in the UK and gives the space a personal, collected vibe.

Even though it’s a darker palette, the room still feels open and airy. It’s functional, fun, and totally him.
